Early morning magpie caws, dewy tall grass and a creaky hills hoist; Andi and Chrissy live in a quiet and forgotten corner of Australian suburbia. The neighbour’s house is spotless, sleek, rich; this sophistication draws Chrissy in. Contrasted entirely by their cluttered, messy and half-painted family home just next door. Each location becomes a character itself, reflecting both their hopes and dreams, neighbouring their rocky upbringing.
A modern Australian setting—Chrissy and Andi live in a timeless version of our present day. Their home, however, is a cluttered capsule of their past. Left in utter neglect, their cracked leather couch, stained kitchen counters and scratched up wooden floor boards are the same ones from their childhood. Full of outdated furniture and constellations of stickers from ten years ago permanently stuck to the walls. Where, as young girls, they would play together and tear each other’s hair out. This history haunts their every decision and defines their relationship, both to each other and the world around them.

Frequently Asked Questions
The production, and by extension, AFTRS is responsible for the condition of the property and has insurances to cover any damage or injury during the shoot period. Your property is protected by a legal document called a location agreement. Do not hesitate to get in touch with us for more information.
In the film, the characters live in a well used house – full of personal items, shoe racks, photo frames and coffee mug holders. Lived-in houses look the best on screen. Any and all changes or decluttering of the set can be done by our production team. After shooting we then be carefully return the space back to it’s original condition for your conveniance.
Lending your house to a film production is no small task, which is why we are so greatful to all the location owners who help make these films possible. Overall, no more than 2 weeks of use. With our production designer needing no more than 4 days and a minimum of 2 to “bump in” – what we call dressing the set. And the film shoot being (strictly) no more than 5 days, with one day “bump out” ends up being just under two working weeks, or 10 days. This is all flexible and can be adjusted in accordance with the owner / occupants.
In short: yes! Being a small student film, we do not have a very large budget, but we are doing our best to make sure we can reimburse our location owners for any expense in regards to filming. If you live in the home which we would like to film in, and have no other residence, alternative accomidation can be organised by the production so you are not displaced. Our final budget allocation for the location will fluxuate as other elements fall into place (cast, camera, stunts, etc) and it also depends on the location itself (if we also have to pay for parking, or significant props/production design). We are more than happy to discuss the finer details of compensation in person, so please don’t hestiate to reach out.
